We start installing Holiday lights as early as September 10th. This allows us to offer great discounts to customers who complete their installations early… and enables them to focus on other things during the busy Holiday Season.

Yes! Total Light Design provides a complete, turnkey holiday lighting solution. We design, install, maintain, remove, and store your lights as needed. All of our lights are high-quality, commercial-grade products, custom-designed and professionally installed for each home to create a clean, polished appearance.

Yes! Total Light Design offers both Rent and Buy options for our professional, custom-designed lighting sets. Renting provides flexibility and allows you to enjoy a fresh look each season without the upfront cost of purchasing the lights.

Yes! We offer a 5%–10% Early Bird Discount for customers who schedule and install their lights between September 10 and October 31. We also offer an additional 5% discount on installation when we install lights on 2 or more homes in the same neighborhood at the same time.

If you are using our LED C9 lights, we offer a no-cost, three-year warranty on lights and installation. If any problem occurs due to poor installation, we will come out immediately and fix the problem at no charge to you.

Each home is unique, and the cost is determined on a case-by-case basis. Installation-only pricing starts at $200. For your convenience, we offer free, no-obligation, same-day estimates. Simply fill out our online form, and you’ll hear from us shortly.

We happily accept cash, check, or any major credit card for our Christmas light installation services. Payments made by the credit card will incur a 3% fee on top of the installation price.

Total Light Design is the holiday lighting division of Portland-based Moda Handyman. In addition to professional Christmas light installation, we offer a wide range of remodeling and handyman services, as well as exterior maintenance services such as roof and gutter cleaning and pressure washing.

Yes! Refer a friend, family member, or neighbor to Total Light Design, and they’ll receive $50 off their installation, while you’ll receive a $50 credit toward your January removal fee.

There’s no limit on the number of referrals, so you can earn a $50 credit for every successful referral!

Yes! We offer convenient, secure off-season storage for your Christmas lights. No more worrying about where you stored them or whether they’ll be damaged or misplaced. We’ll keep your lights safe and ready for the next season.

Storage starts at $145 per year.

Our Rental Option offers maximum flexibility and convenience. It includes free maintenance throughout the season, allows you to change your color combinations each year at no additional cost, and eliminates the need to store the lights after the holidays. We take care of everything for you!

When you purchase our lights, you pay a one-time cost for the lighting set. After that, you’ll only pay for replacement bulbs when needed during installation.

Our commercial-grade bulbs are built to last. If a bulb fails during the season, replacement and maintenance service is typically not included and may incur an additional fee. However, if an issue is caused by our installation, we’ll return and fix it at no additional charge.

For customer-owned lights, we also offer optional storage starting at $145 per year.

Yes! If you have commercial-grade lights that are already customized to your home, we’d be happy to install them for you. Additional charges may apply if the original lighting diagram is missing or if we need to add accessories or make modifications to the set.

Our removal service starts at $125 for a basic roofline installation and includes up to 3 mini-light strands on pillars, rails, or trees. Each additional strand is $3 per strand.

Payment is not due until January, when we return to remove the lights.

Yes, we do! We can install permanent lighting systems you already own or provide. Simply fill out our online form and let us know what type of lights you have or what you’re looking for in the comments section. We’ll review your project and prepare a quote for you.

We offer two types of professional, commercial-grade C9 lights: Incandescent (glass) C9s and LED C9s.

Incandescent C9s are typically brighter and have a classic holiday look, but they use more electricity, are more fragile, and have a shorter lifespan.

LED C9s use up to 90% less electricity, are more durable, and come with a 3-season warranty. They are available in two white tones: Warm White (yellowish) and Cool White (bluish). LED lights are more expensive, but their energy efficiency and durability make them a popular choice.

Both options are available in a wide variety of colors, and our custom design process allows us to create virtually any color combination to match your home and holiday style.
